Scheme Outline

Upgrade of the existing A90 between Balmedie and Tipperty to dual two-lane standard, with provision of two new grade separated junctions. This will complete a gap in the existing dual carriageway that currently forms a major bottleneck.

June 2006
A public exhibition for the plans has been held.
January 2007
Transport Scotland has announced its preferred route for the road.
July 2008
Transport Scotland is now issuing Compulsory Purchase Orders for the land the new road will require, even though the statutory process is not yet complete. The start of work has been set back two years to 2010.
