Occasionally a scheme looks likely enough and big enough to make it into the Futures listing, and then gets cancelled. This page is the final resting place of any schemes that suffer such a fate.
- A1 Adderstone - Belford
Dropped in summer 2006. Not due for review until 2016. - A303 Stonehenge Tunnel
Dropped in January 2008. - A494/A550 Queensferry - Ewloe
Put under review in early 2008 as the scheme was much too costly and ambitious. Likely to return, but not for some time and in a much smaller-scale form. - A555 MAELR/Hazel Grove and Poynton Bypass
Dropped in summer 2007 when funding was withdrawn. - A5225 Wigan Gateway
Dropped in late 2006. Some elements remain as smaller isolated schemes.
